The Catalan Referendum Act is passed
The Catalan Parliament passes the Referendum Act with the votes of Junts pel Sí and the CUP, in the absence of Ciudadanos, the PSC and the PPC. Puigdemont and his ministers sign the decree calling the referendum for 1 October.
On 7 September, the Spanish Constitutional Court suspends the calling of the referendum. The Catalan Parliament passes the Transitional Act with the votes of Junts pel Sí and the CUP, in the absence of Ciudadanos, the PSC and the PPC. The Electoral Board of Catalonia is established. The next day, the High Court of Justice of Catalonia admits a complaint by the Prosecutor’s Office against the Puigdemont government for disobedience, misconduct and misuse of public funds.
