Leukemia
In 1992, for the first time in Catalonia, TVC organised a telethon to raise funds for charity, on that occasion leukaemia.
With the collaboration of the Josep Carreras International Leukaemia Foundation that first edition of La Marató de TV3 raised over a million euros, which was allocated to developing the Register of Bone Marrow Donors (REDMO). This register sets out to ensure that patients waiting for a bone marrow transplant who do not have a suitable donor in their family do not miss this possibility of being cured.
The funds raised by La Marató in 1992 contributed to research doors which included promotion and classification, as well as the infrastructure for classification and linkage and permanent updating of the computer and communication systems.
