Down's Syndrome

There were two goals for the 1993 edition of La Marató de TV3 of the: boosting genetic research to focus on proper scientific knowledge of the origin of Down syndrome and raise social awareness about the disease. The former was to materialise in terms of money; the latter, in terms of social maturity.

With the funds that were obtained, the Catalan Foundation for Down Syndrome, with the advice of a scientific committee comprising people of recognised professional standing, awarded grants to ten scientific research projects run by Catalan teams.
