Cardiovascular diseases

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of mortality in western countries and despite the efforts that have been made in research, the resources to find effective solutions for this disease were scarce in the mid-nineties.

The funds obtained in the 1995 edition of La Marató de TV3 were used in ten of biomedical research projects in this field. The programme stressed the knowledge of the Catalan public about cardiovascular disease and about diagnosing, preventing and treating it.
