Neurodegenerative diseases
During more than 15 hours of live broadcasting, La Marató 2013 showcased neurodegenerative diseases, combining information with awareness-raising and entertainment.
The interviews with expert doctors and the many informative actions in the studio gave way to direct statements from people who are affected, offering a more human and close-up face of the diseases. Lots of music and show-business completed this special programme, which once again proved to be a powerful mobilising force around the country.
The outcome of a large number of activities in which the public took part was the sum of 11.8m, which will make it possible to continue researching new therapies to stop the neurodegenerative diseases, and find individualised response mechanisms for the needs of each patient and each family, as well as finding preventive strategies.
