Respiratory diseases
The 33rd edition of La Marató raised a total of 6,434,613 euros for awareness-raising and research into respiratory diseases, a group of diseases that affect two million people in Catalonia. This provisional scoreboard will rise with the donations that arrive until 31 March.
On 15 December, La Marató started up on Catalunya Radio with a special edition of "El suplement", with Roger Escapa. TV3 joined in with a space hosted by Albert Om in the Audiovisual Park of Catalonia, in Terrassa. From there it moved to three other studios located in natural spaces to highlight the importance of breathing clean air: the island of Gràcia, in the Ebro delta, a Unesco biosphere reserve, with the meteorologists Gemma Puig and Eloi Cordomí; the Segre park in Seu d'Urgell, with the sports journalists Xavi Valls and Marta Bosch, and the Devesa park in Girona, with Marta Montaner and Manel Alías.
La Marató offered a humane and transversal view of the reality of respiratory diseases, with many witness statements, experts and publicity resources, livened up with music, entertainment and many demonstrations of the voluntary movement that was in action throughout Catalonia.
