Every Word Opens a New World, Every Image a Story
The series is targeted to children, ages 4 to 9.
Draw Me a Story shows children how stories are illustrated while an off-screen narrator tells a specially-adapted version of a story.
The series not only touches on traditional stories like The Three Little Pigs, Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood, but also focuses on other lesser known works such as stories on travel, animals, cooking, and even about fear and kissing.
The illustration process and narration are cleverly accompanied by specially-composed music for each story.
The program's core idea is to stimulate kids' creative imaginations through illustration techniques applied to storytelling. The program centers as much on the illustration methods and materials as on depicting the story. The aim is to enable children to create their own illustrations for their own personal interpretation of the story.
"Draw me a Story" is a series that has taken off around the world and been broadcast in the U.S., Italy, France, Germany, Brazil, Korea and the United Arab Emirates, among other countries.
