Tabaqui has been chasing after his meal when he runs into a human camp built a long time ago. And he gets an idea. Plotting alongside Shere Kahn, Tabaqui goes up to Baloo, Bageerah and Mowgli and tells them that man is here and hands them over a gun. A worried Baloo decides to inform the animals to take refuge. The procession of animals led by Hathi and Baloo enter a vegetation area, clearing which is a safe place to hide. Mowgli doesn't like this one bit and wants to stand and fight rather than hide like cowards. Shere Kahn is awaiting Tabaqui to isolate Mowgli from the group. Tabaqui isolates Mowgli from the rest of the group by suggesting that he is the only one who can reason with man. As Tabaqui leads Mowgli down the river, where he had seen the man, Hathi and Baloo block the entrance of the hide-out by a boulder to keep everyone safe. As Mowgli reaches the river and examines the hand gun, he realizes that it is old and rotting and hasn't been used in a very long time. He has been tricked. He finds out that Appu and Hita stayed back to see the man and did not go hiding. He also gets to know that the entrance of the hiding is blocked and the boulder isn't moving. While he asks Hita and Appu to help open the entrance, he lures Shere Kahn to the hide-out so that he could teach him a lesson. Just as Shere Kahn is about to attack Mowgli, the entrance opens and Baloo, Hathi, Bageerah and Daruka appear and Shere Kahn has to leave. Mowgli tells them that there was no man coming and everyone is safe again.
