Via DTTV

Since 16 January 2024, all 3Cat DTT channels broadcast in high definition (TV3, 3CatInfo, Esport3 and SX3/33). The thematic channels for news, sports, children's and cultural content improve their image and sound quality, offering a fully high-definition television experience.

TV3, which until then was available in both high definition (HD) and standard definition (SD), now broadcasts exclusively in high definition. Therefore, TV3 SD has already been discontinued.

As for the other channels (3CatInfo, Esport3 and SX3/33), if you have an HD television, you can watch them in high definition automatically.

With the shutdown of SD channels, 3Cat has anticipated the mandatory shutdown of all SD channels on 14 February 2024.

Frequently asked questions

  • What do I need to watch all 3Cat channels on television? An HD-compatible television.
  • What should I do if I have an old TV that is not compatible with HD broadcasts? If your TV is not compatible with HD broadcasts and you don't want to replace it, you will need an HD DTT decoder to continue watching television via DTT.
  • What should I do if I previously had TV3 SD tuned? You need to search for the TV3 HD channel in your channel list, which will be identified in the top right corner of the screen.
  • What do I need to do to watch 3CatInfo, Esport3 and SX3/33 in HD? Nothing. If you already have an HD television, you will be able to watch 3CatInfo, Esport3 and SX3/33 in high definition automatically.
  • What should I do if I watch TV3 channels via a DTT-SAT receiver? This type of satellite television receiver is only used in homes that cannot get regular television coverage (Terrestrial DTT). If you receive our channels via a satellite receiver (DTT-SAT), first check that it is HD. If it is not, you will need to replace it with an HD DTT-SAT receiver to watch the channels in HD. If your DTT-SAT receiver is already HD and you still cannot see the channels, check that your television is also HD compatible.
